In an effort to serve its patrons effectively, the Teton County Library uses a wide range of communications media, including social media communication tools that facilitate interactive sharing, interoperability, and collaboration. Social media platforms allow users to both view and share content.
The Library uses social media sites to facilitate communications with library patrons and community members. Participants are invited to view content offered by the Library and share relevant and appropriate posts, comments, events and messages with other patrons, community members and the library.
The Library reserves the right to monitor content before or after it is posted to Library-maintained social media sites and accounts. It may also edit or remove any messages or posting that it deems, in its sole discretion, to be abusive, defamatory, in violation of copyright, trademark right, other intellectual property of any third party, or otherwise inappropriate for the service. While the Library will make reasonable efforts to monitor its social media sites, the Library is not responsible of liable for content or its accuracy posted by subscribers to any of its sites. Comments may not be used for commercial purposes or for any organized political activity.
If one does not agree to the terms of this policy, then that person should not use the service, as violation of the terms can lead to legal liability.
Library staff may create content for the Library’s social media platforms with the permission of the Library Director. Library maintained social media platforms and their content are considered the property of the Library.
