Library Gallery Exhibit Policy

Purpose 

Teton County Library presents art exhibitions and displays collections for the benefit of the community. The purpose of exhibitions and displays in the library is to provide public access to art, culture, education, and ideas, while providing flexible spaces for emerging and established artists, collectors, and organizations to showcase their work and/or collections. The gallery is open during the library’s regular hours. Admission is free. 

Rules

  • Anyone is welcome to apply to exhibit artwork or display collections in the library. Applications for exhibiting artwork or displaying collections are reviewed on a first come, first serve basis.
  • The library shall have final decision on the content and arrangement of all exhibitions and displays.
  • The library reserves the right to reject any exhibition or display, in whole or in part, at its sole discretion.
  • Exhibitors wishing to be invited to display need to contact the library.
  • Exhibitor will schedule an appointment with library staff for the placement and removal of the display.
  • Teton County Library will not facilitate the sale of artwork or collections. Prices may not be affixed to any materials on display.
  • The name of the organization responsible for the exhibit shall be in plain view on the face of the exhibit.
  • Teton County Library reserves the right to issue a written disclaimer indicating to the public that an exhibit does not reflect the beliefs or views of Teton County Library.
  • All artwork and collections submitted for consideration must be “ready to hang,” or “ready to place”— i.e., matted and framed (if applicable) and identified as appropriate to the pieces. Artwork or collections must be of an appropriate size and quantity to fill the exhibit space.
  • The display will remain in place for a mutually agreed upon time. No display will remain in place indefinitely.
  • The library is not responsible for items exhibited.
  • Teton County Library may remove any materials from the exhibit space without advance notice to exhibitors. Teton County Library will notify exhibitors that materials have been removed from the exhibit space by the Library as soon as practicable. Teton County Library will not be responsible for the storage or condition of any materials removed. All materials for display must be picked up within 7 days of the end of display or materials become the property of the Library to be disposed of at the library’s discretion.
