In keeping with the Teton County Library’s mission to connect you to resources, people and learning, the Library provides free public access to the Internet. As a matter of policy and in adherence with the WLA Intellectual Freedom Statement, the Library offers free and unfettered access to the Internet for any library user, regardless of age and does not restrict access to any resource on the Internet for reasons of content. The Library does not monitor and has no control over information accessed through the Internet and cannot be held responsible for its content. The Library expressly disclaims any liability or responsibility arising from access to or use of information obtained through its electronic information systems, or any consequences thereof.
You should be aware that the Internet is not a secure medium and that third parties may be able to obtain information regarding your activities.
Parents
The Library does not filter its Internet.
As with all other library materials, children’s access and use of the Internet is the sole responsibility of the child’s parent or legal guardian. The Library does not act in loco parentis: it does not have the same role in supervising children that schools have, and, it cannot substitute its judgment for that of parents or enforce parents’ decisions about their children’s Internet use. Children who use the Internet unsupervised may be exposed to inappropriate or disturbing information and images. Parents are encouraged to supervise and to participate actively in their children’s computer and Internet use in relation to family values and boundaries.

Wireless Access
The Library’s wireless Internet service is not encrypted.
You should be aware that any information sent or received could potentially be intercepted by another wireless user.
Copyright
Materials obtained or copied from the Internet may be subject to copyright laws. U.S. Copyright Law (Title 17, U.S. Code) prohibits the unauthorized reproduction or distribution of copyrighted materials, except as permitted by the principles of fair use. You may not copy or distribute electronic materials (including 2 electronic mail, text images, programs or data) without the explicit permission of the copyright holder. Any responsibility for any consequences of copyright infringement lies with the user. The Teton County Library expressly disclaims any liability or responsibility resulting from such use.
Remedies and Enforcement
Failure to follow TCL Internet Policy may result in suspension of Internet use privileges. Continue violation may result in suspension of library use privileges as indicated in the Library Use Policy and Rules.
