Free Leonard Peltier is a powerful new documentary about one man’s fight for justice and the generations of Native people who stood beside him. Produced by Jhane Myers (Comanche/Blackfeet) and directed by Jesse Short Bull (Oglala Lakota) and David France, the film tells the story of Leonard Peltier, a leader in the American Indian Movement who spent nearly 50 years in prison for a crime he did not commit.

Through rare footage and new technology, the film brings to life the courage of Native activists and the ongoing struggle for sovereignty, truth, and freedom.

Join us for a special screening and community discussion with producer Jhane Myers, honoring Native resilience and the power of standing together for justice.

Jhane Myers is an Emmy-winning filmmaker and producer of the Comanche and Blackfeet nations, deeply committed to bringing Indigenous voices and languages to the screen. She served as a producer on Prey, where she ensured cultural and linguistic authenticity for the Comanche narrative. Her work spans major studio projects, documentaries, fine arts, and community engagement — reflecting her belief that representation matters.
