How do you read 1000 Books Before Kindergarten? 10 books at a time!

Our 1K B4 K kits each have 10 picture books in them handpicked by librarians. Take a kit home, read the 10 books together, then check off that kit # in the Beanstack app or on a piece of paper. 

Go to TCL's Beanstack page to keep track of your kits. Can’t get into one of the books in the kit but want to check that kit off in Beanstack? Easy!  Simply read a different book and check it off.  Or read the same book twice.  You could even replace a whole kit with one of our Grab and Go kits (see below).  The point is, simply, to read!  Have fun and enjoy knowing that you're boosting your child's early literacy skills!

Kits may be checked out for three weeks and are renewable.

Our Grab and Go kits are similar to our 1KB4K kits.  They each have 10 picture books in them, handpicked by librarians but they are all based on the theme of the kit.  Want to read 10 books about the seasons?  Grab the “Seasons” kit!  Do you have a little that is going to school for the first time?  Try the “Kindergarten” kit.  We are adding kits all the time so let us know if there is a theme your kiddo would like to read about!  Kits may be checked out for three weeks and are renewable.

Do you have a kiddo that loves to build things?  Maybe cooking is their favorite thing to do!  We all have questions about how things work and our STEAM kits may help you answer those questions!  Stop by the library to grab a STEAM kit and build marble runs, play with a model of our solar system, or learn how things are measured.  Kits include all supplies needed to complete the activities and there is also a book related to the STEAM topic.  Kits may be checked out for three weeks and are renewable.
