Structured Activities

Monday through Friday beginning TUE, SEPT 2

Starting at 3:30 p.m.

Youth Auditorium | Ages 8 & up

As a library, we are here to…

  • Provide a welcoming space for working on homework.
  • Offer opportunities to read and the chance to explore library materials
  • Offer technology for schoolwork and fun.
  • Offer drop-in afterschool activities.

The TCSD activity bus stops at the library. Please check the activity bus schedule for your child's school. Snacks are supplied by One22.

Participation in drop-in activities is free and optional for children who spend after school hours at the library. Though the Youth Wing is fully staffed, children in the Youth Wing are not formally supervised outside of the Youth Auditorium activities. Please be aware the library is a public space for everyone. The library does not take attendance or keep track of your child’s whereabouts in or out of the building.

Please consider whether your child is mature enough to handle being unsupervised in a public space before sending them to the library after school.

Make sure you have continued conversations with your child regarding…

  • How to behave appropriately
  • How to spend time in the library
  • How to contact your or another caregiver

Keep your child safe

Children under 8 must be supervised by someone 12 years of age or older. If left unattended, caregivers will be notified. If unreachable, the police will be called. Ensure your child knows how to contact you and that the library has your contact information.

Before you allow your child to come to the library after school, please review:

Inappropriate behavior

If your child engages in behavior that's unsafe, disruptive, or disrespectful, they may be asked to leave the library. Repetitive behavior may be documented and may result in the loss of library privileges.
