We have Summer Reading crafts, storytimes, movies & Garden Club.

Step One - Sign Up!

Kids in pre-school through 5th grade sign up at the Youth Services Desk or online.

Parents, be a great reading role model! Show your kids the value of reading, and win prizes for yourself!

Sign up for Adult Summer Reading online or at a Library Desk.

Step Two: Read & Win

Read books of your choice at your skill level.

Track your time in your Reading Log.

  • Number the lines on your Reading Log from 1 to 15.

  • Each time you read (or are read to) for 20 minutes, write the book title on one of your numbered lines.

  • After you fill all 15 lines, write a sentence or two about what you read.

  • Collect your prize!

  • Start a new Reading Log! Repeat steps above.


Step Three: Collect Prizes

Prizes are earned after 15 lines (5 hours) of logged reading!

Three prizes are available.

Extra credit is available for those who complete three Reading Logs goals (see below).

Important Saturday prize dates:
June 28 First prize available for 5 hours of logged reading
July 12 Second prize available for next 5 hours of logged reading
July 26 Third prize available for next 5 hours of logged reading
Aug 9 Join us for a special event to meet “The Phantom Tollbooth Author” Norton Juster
Aug 16 Final day to turn in reading hours, extra credit hours and pick up any prizes


Step Four: Golden Tickets & Extra Credit

Improve your reading skills and grow your love for reading and the library.

Your goal = complete as least 15 hours of logged reading. Everyone who reaches 15 hours of logged reading will earn a Golden Ticket for a special surprise when you return to school.

What if you finish early? Simply print another Reading Log and turn in extra credit hours to be entered into a drawing for grand prizes!
