Landscaping & Water Conservation

The library’s lawn, planted with Rocky Mountain wildflowers and native grasses, consumes about a third of the water required by a typical lawn. The library’s backyard also provides small mammals with food, water, shelter and a place to raise young. The National Wildlife Federation has recognized the library’s yard as a “Workplace Wildlife Habitat,” the first distinction of its kind for a Wyoming library.
