Solar Energy: In 2007, the library completed installation of 40 solar panels on the roof. In 2008, another 80 panels will be completed. The 120 panels will:

● Generate more energy than it takes to power three average American homes (an estimated 2,745 kilowatt-hours per month or 31,464 kW-h per year).

● Provide enough power to light 360 compact fluorescent bulbs.

● Reduce emissions of carbon dioxide (a greenhouse gas) by 47,826 pounds, sulfur dioxide by 252 pounds and nitrogen oxide by 153 pounds annually.

The completed project will consist of 200 panels and will become the second largest solar installation in Wyoming.
