Energy Conservation
In 2007, the library completed installation of 40 solar panels on the roof. In 2008, another 80 panels will be completed. The 120 panels will:
● Generate more energy than it takes to power three average American homes (an estimated 2,745 kilowatt-hours per month or 31,464 kW-h per year).
● Provide enough power to light 360 compact fluorescent bulbs.
● Reduce emissions of carbon dioxide (a greenhouse gas) by 47,826 pounds, sulfur dioxide by 252 pounds and nitrogen oxide by 153 pounds annually.
●The completed project will consist of 200 panels and will become the second largest solar installation in Wyoming.
